Jobs for Life is a 8-week (16 sessions) biblically-based work development program that is geared helping the unemployed or unemployed develop their plan for their next career.
The mission of a Jobs for Life volunteer team is to provide a safe, welcoming environment that inspires, guides, and equips the unemployed and underemployed to find and keep meaningful jobs and build healthy lives. Only real qualification… can you show up and love someone?

- Key volunteers and meal team will arrive by 5:30p to set up.

We are looking for male and female champions that would be willing to sacrifice some time to mentor 12 motivated men and women who are part of a True Recovery RVA program, and many will be participants of the HARP Program, Chesterfield County Jail. We are meeting 2x a week – Monday and Thursday from approximately 6-9pm starting in late January. We are also looking for instructors. A facilitator’s guide is provided. It’s a mix of scripture/bible lesson and soft skills like the importance of character, community, body language, and some resume writing and interviewing skills. We have a few instructors, but would like to be sure we have a diverse population of instructors. We hope to pull from our current list of experienced instructors, but we will have room for new volunteers.
— BUSINESS LEADERS:
We are always looking for business leaders and HR professionals who are willing to do mock interviews, participate in panels, review resumes, etc. Also, are you willing to hire our graduates?
— ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:
We could use some assistance with administrative functions for the class. Tracking student data, prayer requests, etc.
— PRAYER TEAM:
If you would like to join the prayer team, we would love to have you join us in praying the participant’s requests, the classes, and more! No need to come class, but you are welcome!
— MEALS for approx 24: (Volunteer Form and Statement of Faith not required)
We will begin each class with a simple meal and would love for you, your family, a small group, club or church to provide a meal for each class. Sample meals:
- Lasagna, Salad, cupcakes
- Fried Chicken, potato salad/cole slaw, baked beans, ice cream cups
- Baked potato bar, salad, brownies
- Deli sandwiches and chips, cookies
- Soup and salad, cake

IMPORTANT NOTES TO ALL VOLUNTEERS:
- We welcome folks who were previously incarcerated and have been restored and would be willing to share their own experiences and successes, providing hope and healing to the participants.
- Orientation and Training is required. Dates will be in early January.
