CCDA National Conference – RVA Recovery

Welcome to Richmond, Neighbors!!!

We are thrilled to have you here! This is where you can find various recovery resources for the CCDA National Conference in Richmond from October 7-10, 2026! We know that being in an unfamiliar setting can be a bit challenging when you can’t hit a home group or your regular meetings, so we want to welcome you to our tables, circles and workshops!

Be sure to come see us and other recovery resources in the exhibit hall:

Pre Conference, Wednesday, 10/7 9am – 4:30pm

Have you…

  • Known how to support the family member of someone with lived experience with substance use disorder?
  • Been curious about how your church or small group might support someone in the congregation through their recovery journey?
  • Wondered how to walk with a client, employee, participant, coworker, friend or loved one through substance use disorder and didn’t know where to start?
  • Considered how your treatment center or recovery community organization might partner or benefit from a relationship with a church or adding a spiritual pathway option to your programming?

This conference is for you!!!

Workshop – Thursday, 1:30-2:45pm

Richmond is the second largest recovery community in the United States. In many of our neighborhoods, recovery homes and detox centers exist as invisible islands. This workshop moves beyond “outreach” to “faithful presence,” teaching attendees how to build reciprocal relationships within the recovery ecosystem.

Featuring a diverse panel of men and women currently in recovery or leading recovery ministries, we will hear firsthand how the Church can move from seeing “addicts to be fixed” to “neighbors to be loved.” We will provide a framework for engagement that respects the dignity of those in recovery while providing the consistent, Jesus-like community necessary for long-term flourishing. Join us to learn how to love like Jesus in the detox centers, sober livings, and recovery communities of your city, moving from isolated service to transformational kinship.

Networking Session – Friday, 5-6pm

Finding Our People: Recovery, Community & Connection

For many of us, substance use disorder isn’t just a ministry category—it’s our personal story, the reality for someone we love, or our daily community focus. This work is vital, and you shouldn’t carry it alone.

Whether you are in recovery, supporting a loved one, or leading a ministry, you belong here. Come find rest, share stories without judgment, and help us dream up a formal year-round CCDA Affinity Network.

Pull up a chair! Join the circle!

PreConference and Workshop Resources

Thanks so much for attending our pre-conference or workshop! You’ll find all of the resources we shared right here.

We’d love to help your family, small group, church, or organization become more recovery-informed and welcoming. Please let us know how we can support you.

If you or a loved one need support on a personal recovery journey, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. We are here for you, and we are lifting you up in prayer!

This one isn’t specific to recovery, but know we are definitely praying for our neighbors in recovery!!!!

Go & See – Friday, 1:30-4:30pm

Pray Over Metro Richmond

We invite you to step away from the conference main stage and join us 18 stories above the pavement. From the panoramic observation deck of City Hall, we will look out over a city of profound dualities and pray for the city.

As CCD practitioners, we know that true community transformation requires looking at our cities with clear eyes and open hearts.

Richmond gives us a tangible canvas for both lamenting and rejoicing. We have much to confess from the past, vital needs to intercede for in the present, and boundless gratitude for what God is doing today.

Together, we will bring Richmond before Almighty God, looking forward with radical hope to the beautiful future He has planned. Come lift up this beloved city with us and experience Richmond from a higher perspective.
