Prayer — May 2012

Join us in praying radical prayers for the Metro Richmond area….

What do we pray for?  We Pray for the Transformation of Metropolitan Richmond:

For the more than one million people living in this historic capital city of Central Virginia, including the jurisdictions of Richmond, Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, and the surrounding counties and towns.

May’s Prayer List Follows:

Pray for the Churches and Religious Institutions of Metropolitan Richmond.

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. (I Cor. 12:12-14)

May 6, 2012.  We pray for the Churches and religious institutions of Metropolitan Richmond: That the true light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ may awaken and heal every heart in every corner of Richmond, Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, and the surrounding counties and towns.

May 13, 2012.  We pray for the Churches and religious institutions of Metropolitan Richmond: For all pastors, ministers, missionaries, and servants of Christ; for all religious communities, abbeys, orders, brotherhoods, sisterhoods, religious societies, and para-church organizations.

May 20, 2012.  We pray for the Churches and religious institutions of Metropolitan Richmond: For seminaries, bible colleges, and schools training persons for vocations in ministry; for the students, faculty, and staff of these institutions.

May 27, 2012.  We pray for the Churches and religious institutions of Metropolitan Richmond: For a spirit of unity, mutuality, cooperation, reconciliation, reform, and common ministry among the Christian community.

This is a cooperative, covenanted effort of churches in Metropolitan Richmond. We pray together each Sunday for the common concerns of our Metropolitan Richmond community.

Please use the Sunday themes however the Spirit leads.  We do not tell one another how to pray.  We only covenant to pray together in one accord for God’s transformation and healing of our metropolitan city.

Coordination of this effort is provided by Richmond Hill, 2209 East Grace Street, Richmond, VA 23223.
